Mackerel fishing deal struck with Norway and the Faroe Islands – Accountant in Wimbledon
Last week, the UK reached an agreement with Norway and the Faroe Islands aimed at reducing the fishing pressure on mackerel. This deal allows Norway and the Faroe Islands to fish a portion of their quota within the UK zone. In return, an annual transfer of part of their quota will be allocated to the UK.
The agreement is anticipated to be a stepping-stone toward a more long-term quota-sharing arrangement among the nations fishing these waters.
